Q: I have a baby of 1year 2months. Can she take Loya milk and what fruit can she take?
A: Loya milk is full cream milk and indeed is recommended for babies at that age. The fat in it is needed for proper brain development. Be sure that your baby gets at least 2 servings of this milk daily.
What fruits can your baby take? Practically, all types of fruits. If you’re introducing fruits for the first time, start gradually. Blend the fruits into smoothies or add some to fruits, like mashed bananas to cereal. You can actually blend up some fruits with the re-constituted Loya milk (powdered milk mixed with water) and serve your baby. Start small and increase amounts as baby tolerates.
This season, we will give you a number of recipes that utilize milk and fruits; we also give you tips on how to incorporate veggies into your baby’s diet and get them to love and want to eat more of it. Keep watching the show on AIT (Tuesdays and Fridays by 8.20am) and STV (Mondays and Wednesdays by 7.20pm) and of course on DSTV where the show airs several times in a day.
Unfortunately, Ebola has crossed the ‘borders’ of Lagos to Enugu. This is most unfortunate…I had hoped the virus would be ‘contained’ within Lagos and the cycle of transmission broken here. This can no longer happen. So, be vigilant y’all and keep practicing the hygiene measures that discourage transmission of this virus. This too shall pass 🙂
Have a good night y’all 🙂
Please Dr Ketch what do I do to gain weight with ease?
