Q: Good afternoon ma. I forgot to add this question: is combination of milk and malt good, as some people say it’s like blood tonic?
A: Oh! That beloved combination – Milk and Malt, which was reward for great work, recovery from illness, blood booster and everything in-between! And it tasted good too! It’s been such a long time since I had this or heard about it. Now, I am thinking of going to get this combo to reward myself for all my work this week! ☹)
Having said that…
My dear, milk and malt are simply a food combination, one we like…a lot…but not a blood tonic. Milk provides protein and calcium, while Maltina mainly provides carbohydrates (energy) along with small amounts of vitamins added during processing.
So when people mix milk and Malt, what they are really taking is a drink that provides energy and some nutrients, but it does not increase blood levels the way a true blood tonic or iron supplement would.
If someone is low on blood (for example due to iron deficiency), the correct treatment would usually involve iron-rich foods or iron supplements prescribed by a doctor.
So, taking milk and malt together occasionally is not harmful for most people. It’s just not a treatment for low blood levels. I hope this helps.
