Q: Good day, Doc. I am new on your page but must confess that you are doing a great job. May GOD bless and strengthen you. Amen. Please Ma’am, I need you to help me out on this one. There’s this heat I usually feel between my laps mostly when putting on trousers and I think I noticed this when I was pregnant and few months after I delivered my baby (who is now 4 months going to five), I am still noticing it. Please Doc, is anything wrong?
A: Amen to all your prayers! 😀 Many thanks for all of them.
Now you didn’t tell me if this feeling of heat is also associated with rashes?
Heat rashes are common during pregnancy as a result of increased sweating. Depending on how much weight you gained during pregnancy, your jeans rubbing against your skin with all that sweat may lead to a burning sensation (heat, if you like), rashes and even formation of blisters.
• Solution to this issue includes keeping cool. I know you love those jeans, but you may have to give them up briefly for light and loose fitting clothes until this is over 😀
• Warm baths and cold compresses on the area may also be helpful
• Powder applied to the area and/or calamine lotion may help soothe the area.
• Staying in cool/air conditioned rooms is a great idea…and do not use harshly perfumed products in the area.
Other causes of burning sensation between the thighs include:
• Eczema
• Contact dermatitis which may be due to clothing or substances that irritate the skin.
If this condition continues in spite of the lifestyle measures above, be sure to see your doctor to give you the look-over.
Have a good evening, y’all 😀
